I met Anna back in July of 2016 at a styled shoot where she was one of the brides. We instantly hit it off and began photographing some sessions together. After a few shoots she asked if we could start doing some with her boyfriend (at the time). Of course I said yes! I have had the honor to photograph their love for each other all across Maryland and parts of D.C. I have never seen two people who have this much passion and love for one another. Every location and every outfit shows a different side of them and how perfect they truly are for each other.
Sam and Anna met 11 years ago at an extra credit luncheon. 5 years later they went on their first official date. Anna knew in her heart that there was something different about Sam. This date was nothing like any other. Fast forward a little bit, Anna told me she knew he was the one before they were together for even a year that he was the one that she wanted to spend her life with. Fast forward to November of 2016 when Sam told me he was starting to plan out how and where he wanted to propose to Anna. All he knew for sure was that it was going to be on their trip to Canada for their anniversary! (Fun fact: their anniversary is my birthday; June 20th!!) Fast forward again to May of this year when Sam sent me a photo of an amazingly stunning ring! I was in awe! Sam did such an amazing job and could not have picked out a ring more like Anna. You truly have no idea how hard it was to hold in the fact that I knew what the ring looked like and when and where Sam was going to propose to her. Anna has become one of my best friends and it was so hard keeping something so big from her!
With every shoot we have done so far, we knew that we had to make their engagement session EPIC. I would love to say after months of planning but honestly, it was only like a month. Anna worked so hard finding vendors and reaching out to see who would like to collaborate with us on this shoot. (all vendors will be listed at the end; be sure to check them out!) After all of the details got squared away, we finalized our decision to go to Rocks State Park in Jarrettsville, Maryland. The craziest part of this entire shoot is that we decided to do this at Sunrise. My husband and I left our house by 3:45 to be to Anna and Sams by 4:15 so we could head up to the park. When we reached the end of the alleyway, Anna had realized that she forgot her ring in the house…. I mean, out of all things lol
On the way up, we all got lost and ended up off of the trail but that did not stop our determination to get up that mountain before the sun came up. Once we got to the top, there were two people sitting on the edge waiting to watch the sunrise. They were kind enough to move and sit on a different rock behind us so we could being shooting. Although we got lost, we were all tired, and Anna’s curls fell out, this is the best session to date!

Is there anything better than a maternity session on the beach…? (Hint: the answer is no…. lol) I vividly remember the day that Anna told me she was pregnant. I was just leaving base in Germany and pulled over since she was calling me on video. To say I was in disbelief is an […]
COVID-19 has definitely changed a lot this year in so many ways from how we style and celebrate milestones to how we socialize with friends and family. This past week Chandler asked me for some ideas of how to capture her birthday which just so happened to be the last day of her lock in […]
A little backstory before product photography came into my life… I started really getting into photographing other people when we were in Florida in 2015. We then moved to Maryland in December of 2015 and that is when my business grew. I had regular clients, weddings, second shot a lot of weddings, and finally began […]
I remember how terribly inconsistent I was with poses during an engagement session back when I started photography and my oh my.. Do you remember Anna? Back in July of 2016 I was invited to a styled shoot by a friend 30 minutes before it started. I ended up getting stuck in traffic on […]
One thing I have learned from this quarantine (as a family photographer) is that there is always more work that can be done to work on your craft. Even if that does not include shooting. I am going back through older sessions and came across this session with my best friend Natalie of Natalie Grace […]
If you are stationed in Germany, you have most likely been to Burg Lichtenberg at least a handful of times. This is one of my favorite castles to go to for family sessions. The kids love to run around and play and the adults can really take in the scenery around Burg Lichtenberg. Going to this […]
