When Kristina messaged me that she would like to book Thorin’s second birthday pictures, I immediately thought holy moly, how has it already been a year since I did his one year photos!

Leading up to Monday, the weather was showing storms and cooler weather. We got super lucky and it cleared up and actually got warmer than expected. At first, Thorin was doing great with looking at me and smiling and once he was put down, he was finding every stick possible and would not put them down! When it comes to family sessions, you basically just focus on whatever the kid wants to do and work around it, which is exactly what we had to do.
Thorin was having so much fun playing peek-a-boo with the leaves!
In the beginning, I mentioned that I photographed Throin’s first birthday photos! Here are a couple comparisons from them to now!
Being able to photograph families as they grow is a big reason why I love what I do! Even though I have not seen the Barnes family in a year, I still remember Thorin’s personality at 1 years old and now seeing him at 2 years old is so crazy! He has so much more energy and watching him explore a new place is so much fun. I got the news that they will be leaving Maryland in April and I’m so sad that I won’t be able to capture her 3 year photos! Hopefully I get to work with them again before they leave. 🙂
Love Always,
Jade
Is there anything better than a maternity session on the beach…? (Hint: the answer is no…. lol) I vividly remember the day that Anna told me she was pregnant. I was just leaving base in Germany and pulled over since she was calling me on video. To say I was in disbelief is an […]
COVID-19 has definitely changed a lot this year in so many ways from how we style and celebrate milestones to how we socialize with friends and family. This past week Chandler asked me for some ideas of how to capture her birthday which just so happened to be the last day of her lock in […]
A little backstory before product photography came into my life… I started really getting into photographing other people when we were in Florida in 2015. We then moved to Maryland in December of 2015 and that is when my business grew. I had regular clients, weddings, second shot a lot of weddings, and finally began […]
I remember how terribly inconsistent I was with poses during an engagement session back when I started photography and my oh my.. Do you remember Anna? Back in July of 2016 I was invited to a styled shoot by a friend 30 minutes before it started. I ended up getting stuck in traffic on […]
One thing I have learned from this quarantine (as a family photographer) is that there is always more work that can be done to work on your craft. Even if that does not include shooting. I am going back through older sessions and came across this session with my best friend Natalie of Natalie Grace […]
If you are stationed in Germany, you have most likely been to Burg Lichtenberg at least a handful of times. This is one of my favorite castles to go to for family sessions. The kids love to run around and play and the adults can really take in the scenery around Burg Lichtenberg. Going to this […]
I love these kinds of playful and natural Sessions!! What a beautiful family!!
OMG!!! He’s grown so much in a year. He’s such a cutie. I’m glad the weather was great. It has to be an awesome feeling to see families grow as change. Also much be awesome for you when they ask you to continue to document the growth. Great blog post!
Aww! Too precious. I do hope you get to work with this family again before they leave! ❤
