What is the first thing an engagement photographer thinks of when a client says they want to do their photos in Washington DC? Sunrise. Daily I go back and forth between whether or not I like sunrise or sunset better. I have to say though after Julie + Jordan’s engagement session, I prefer the lighting during sunrise! Although I am not a fan of waking up that early BUT it is also so nice to have less people around and more areas that are accessible. We made stops all throughout The National Mall including the Lincoln Memorial, the World War II Memorial, Washington Monument, and the United States Capitol Building. I am SO excited for their wedding in April and can’t wait to visit Maryland again! Jordan and Julie’s wedding is going to be so much fun!
Fun fact: Jordan and Julie found me on Zola! How crazy is that! I had a wedding featured on Zola and I could not be any happier or thankful.
Fun fact: Jordan and Julie met on the lawn near the Washington Monument! We made sure to get a few shots here! 🙂
You can see more of my favorite shoots from DC on Instagram! Book your engagement session today! 🙂 Washington DC is paradise for an engagement photographer… Check out my favorite session at the Thomas Jefferson with Anna + Sam on her blog!
Is there anything better than a maternity session on the beach…? (Hint: the answer is no…. lol) I vividly remember the day that Anna told me she was pregnant. I was just leaving base in Germany and pulled over since she was calling me on video. To say I was in disbelief is an […]
COVID-19 has definitely changed a lot this year in so many ways from how we style and celebrate milestones to how we socialize with friends and family. This past week Chandler asked me for some ideas of how to capture her birthday which just so happened to be the last day of her lock in […]
A little backstory before product photography came into my life… I started really getting into photographing other people when we were in Florida in 2015. We then moved to Maryland in December of 2015 and that is when my business grew. I had regular clients, weddings, second shot a lot of weddings, and finally began […]
I remember how terribly inconsistent I was with poses during an engagement session back when I started photography and my oh my.. Do you remember Anna? Back in July of 2016 I was invited to a styled shoot by a friend 30 minutes before it started. I ended up getting stuck in traffic on […]
One thing I have learned from this quarantine (as a family photographer) is that there is always more work that can be done to work on your craft. Even if that does not include shooting. I am going back through older sessions and came across this session with my best friend Natalie of Natalie Grace […]
If you are stationed in Germany, you have most likely been to Burg Lichtenberg at least a handful of times. This is one of my favorite castles to go to for family sessions. The kids love to run around and play and the adults can really take in the scenery around Burg Lichtenberg. Going to this […]
